AlphaServer is down because of a power supply issue. The unit has number 30-43120-02 (API-4030B-01), but from my research I cannot see any difference between that and the 30-43120-01 (API-4030), unless the former just has some tweaks to the internals for reliability or cost reasons. The outputs seem to be the same. The current loop plug is a different shape, but both have three live sockets that correspond, so that’s just a little surgery …
In summary, the stickers are the same and they say:
- Input: 200-240V AC, 7.0 A
- Out: 5.0V DC 52 A
- Out: 3.43 DC 37.4 A
- (These top 2 outputs can deliver 335W)
- 12.0 V DC 11 A
- (These top 3 outputs can deliver 420 W)
- -12 V DC 0.5 A
- -5.0 V DC 0.2 A
- (AUX) 5.0 V DC 0.6 A
- and a fan output.
I opened it up, but I can’t see anything wrong, and I don’t feel like testing all the capacitors, even if I could. So I ordered a replacement one. A friend did the hunting around and found a 30-43120-01 for a small fraction of the the cheapest 30-43120-02, so I tried that.
Here we go.
You can find service annuals for these on the web pretty easily.

The only read difference is that the current share plug is square on 02 and has 4 sockets and is linear on 01 and has 3; but of the 4 in 02, only 3 are used.
So you butcher up a new current share connector and they are interchangeable.
So the old machine is running again.
